Understanding your investment in well-being
I believe in transparent and fair pricing for your counselling sessions and any additional needs you need & receive. This page outlines everything you need to know about my session fees, duration, and payment options.

Session fees and duration
The British Association of Counselling & Psychotherapy recommends that counselling sessions are regular for effective therapy. I recommend sessions are either weekly or fortnightly. This consistency ensures stability and trust within our therapeutic relationship, which is crucial for your progress. Sessions are normally between 50 minutes to 1 hour, a duration considered optimal for maintaining energy and focus.
| Session type | Duration | Fee |
|---|---|---|
| Individual counselling | 50 minutes to 1 hour | Please enquire for current rates |
| Initial consultation | As needed | Free of charge |
There is no fixed number of counselling sessions, as the amount depends on your individual needs and presenting issues. We will discuss this at the beginning of our time together. While short-term therapy might involve 6-12 sessions, many people find 12-24 sessions necessary for meaningful progress, or even longer-term work. Sometimes, NICE (National Institute for Clinical Excellence) guidelines will be a measurement for how many sessions you might need.
Transparency in costs and payment
Your session fee covers all aspects of our therapeutic time together. There are no hidden charges. During our first session, I will discuss a counsellor/client contract with you, which transparently outlines all fees and my cancellation policy. Payment for sessions will be via bank transfer or cash, made on the same day as therapy or before the session.
